Smile for the camera

By Kaxxie
Hi everyone

Bit late posting today. My kind friend took me to the hairdressers then we decided to take our new hair out to lunch. My neck is cold now I’ve lost a good 5ins off my hair.

This was taken last year at the orchid festival in Kew Gardens. It was one of the few times I had taken my Nikon out with me. It kept steaming up in the hot house and I was totally running out of patience, ready to fling it in the water. The One Show were filming. Much to my friend’s utter embarrassment I approached a nice young camera man who was waiting patiently to do some filming and asked for his advice. He told me to hold it over an air vent to dry it out. Perfect advice. I had no trouble after that. My friend was virtually hiding amongst the foliage when I approached him but when she saw he didn’t bite she bravely emerged from the foliage and asked him who he was filming for. 😂😂😂😂

Thank you so much for the votes and kind comments on yesterday’s ‘Mistletoe and Wine’ image and to Rich (woodini254) for the precious UA. I’ve had that song on my brain ever since I posted the image. I USED to like it. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Instead of photographing the trees I should have stood underneath and looked hopeful! 😉😉😉

Take care

A good tip! I had the same problem in the palm house in the Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh, but nobody came to advise me, I just got misty photographs! Good capture Karen, it is amazing things you find these hot houses!
