Agree the crop works well and the background although strong takes you across to the main action of the portrait. The image is a little flat and dark although good catchlights in the eyes.

Think a little bit of dodging to bring up the eyes a little and make them sparkle would be almost enough to get this to stand out much stronger. I would take care with the lighting initially however as the angle of the light source has also pushed a dark shadow under your subjects eye.

None the less this is an appealing portrait with an unusual crop that works well. Creative and with a little more work on the initial lighting and some post processing to lift the eyes then this will go from good to great.

Love the deep shadows here Charlotte and the inclusion of the backdrop which helps to lift the image. A beautiful model and an interesting crop!
