Smoke Covering

By stevenb
Taken late one freezing cold November aftrenoon in a small village called Middlestone in Co Durham, during the battle the gun/canon smoke just seemed to cling to the ground, The image is as taken, apart from sepia toning in PS.

Sepia tones give an 'authentic' feel to this. John

very realistic, it's so hard to do in these situations, well done.

Good shot! The smoke adds atmosphere and the toning suits the subject well.

Great photo, Bill. It really popped to me, since I live near Gettysburg. It's always interesting to see how the American Civil War is acted out in the UK. If you're really into the Civil War, let me know, I'll send links to you.

Great over all feel to the the smoke, sepia tone, and the over all depth in composition.
