Smouldering Giant (2006)

By javam
I was looking at the older pictures in my PF and I noticed that the first picture I loaded up was not only badly presented, but also not the best shot I took on that day, so I thought it was worth revisiting.

This is a picture of Mt Etna as viewed from the north and taken on my honeymoon in September 2004.

The smoke clouds on the left were from the eruption taking place at the time.

It has been cropped slightly and the curves tweaked, but the band of white cloud is how the sky looked on that day.

Hello Neil, I like the atmosphere of your setting...good tonal balance to those clouds but a little dark in the fg.

That's amazing. Very threatening but beautiful at the same time.
That's a place I'll definitely visit. JNC
