Don't talk about snails, Herman, I have spend the last couple of mornings collecting hundreds of them for future eating Smile. Mind you, I can't stand the things myself, the mere thought of eating one, yukSadSad. Carol

Great shots Herman and very unusual to see so many snails in one place.

Quite a mass of snaildom. They are quite attractive, but very destructive I would imagine.
Those are pretty amazing images, Herman. I remember being in Tunisia the summer of 2005, and in a mountain city called Le Kef (or el Kef in Arabic), shells of dead snails on the ground under many bushes in certain areas......in their wet season, they may have looked much like this.

I like both images, Herman. It's rather an enigmatic situation. One explanation that came to my mind is that their gathering on the plants on the coastal line might have been their need for salt, but the strange thing is that salt kills them. It really keeps me in wonder. A biologist might know the answer.
