I would post a mod, but you can just paste Mr Grumpy's in there. Actually I have posted one for you - you may like it Smile)))

What's the white speck in the eye, it's not a ctachlight. A piece of blossom maybe. Would clone it out cos it looks strange.

Decided not to post any Santago shots at the moment, thought I'd leave you something to post.

Got any in flight leopards Grin)

Love those whiskers, wonderful crop to show the intense power in those jaws.

Did I mention that the snarl was directed at Cheryl who was stood next to me? Some might find that understandable...

(Cheryl... the white is where the flash is reflected off the eye, along with a little on the right canines, and the right inside of the mouth)

Thanks for all the comments...

oh wow, excellent capture, I am in awe of the clarity and crispness of your pictures.

Do you have any tips on how to get the extra bit of detail and sharpness?

Cheers
Heiko

Thanks for all the comments.

Heiko, good technique and good lenses. This was taken handheld at 160mm focal length at 1/100th second, F 5.6 at ISO 200. A flash with a Stofen diffuser was also used to provide a little more light. Usually 1/100th shutter speed would be quite slow for the 160mm focal length, but the Canon image stabilising system helps a lot.

Photoshop work was a little tweak in saturation and curves, a very little cropped off the top and one side, then sharpened using high pass filter method (see in EPZ techniques). Borders added, then resized to 800 pix, the resharpened again using USM, approx 25% @ 1 with 0 threshold just to crisp it up where the resize softens it. Thats pretty much it...

My first reaction was to type "b@stards" and leave it at that... but, well, this is a family site and I felt it would have been unfair to write that...

... so I added my own mod version...
