Snow Leopard

This is Laila a female Snow leopard they are found in high altitude mountainous environments across Central Asia. They are highly elusive making them very difficult to monitor and study. Threats include poaching for fur and the traditional medicine trade. These cats are more closely related to tigers than they are to the true leopard species. The versions show more of Laila and her cub Shen born in September last year.

A rare animal, well captured, Ron. The cub looks very fit and healthy, so it must be commendable that the Cat Sanctuary are managing to raise them.
