Always a pleasure to see a sight like this Carole. For me they signal the beginning of the end of winter. Still a way to go of course but its a start.

A very lonely and forelorn looking specimen bravely battling the cold conditions. These are always a joy to view when they emerge in mid winter to herald the first signs of spring. The first ones that have emerged in my backgarden are at present under several inches of snow!
