Snowdrops

By TrevBatWCC
Everyone seems to be uploading snowdrop images on EPZ. Not to be outdone, grabbed the Nikon and walked all of about 5 metres from my front doorstep to capture these a couple of days ago in my garden whilst the sun was out. It was also quite windy, making them sway about a bit! I don't know how they got there – I'd lived here a few years and not seen any, then they suddenly appeared, and I've never planted them! They've come out religiously every year since that first time. Shot from about 1 metre away stood upright, as I've no hope of getting in close and down to their level – and even more difficultly getting back upright again! 😳 A bit iffy about uploading, as they're by no means the best shown here on EPZ, but getting desperate for anything new to upload. The version is a crop of the lead.
Took me ages to come up with a title…

Here they come SmileSmileSmile
The bluebells are all poking through in the woods, so I expect we'll get lots of those shots on here soon. So pretty, but they don't last very long. Sad

Funny old world Trev, we must all be telepathic on EPZ, I came up with that title for mine, too 🙂🙂🙂 Yes, bright today and crocuses out here too. Spring is arriving, revealing her beauties to those of us who appreciate her 😀

My favourite time of year, as announced by the snowdrops, daffodils and then, best of all, bluebells. They all bring hope after the cold and gloom of winter and resonate especially this year. A cheering image, Trev.

Nice pair of photos Trev, the slightly subdued colour and low contrast works well.

I know what you mean about 'getting down to their level' Trev. I find the swivel back of my camera good for that type of thing. I can just lean over and hold the camera level a foot or so off the ground (my technique for the Cyclamen I uploaded last week). Smile

What a beautiful clump of snowdrops.
My sister called them a blanket of snowdrops when I put a photo on F/B.
Here at some more collective nouns for our favourite spring flower.
Collective nouns for snowdrops: a nod, a carpet, a joy, a cheer and our favourite, a hope! Wrap and warm and enjoy the garden starting to wake up for its winter hibernation
