Snowtographs

By LynneJoyce
I haven't been able to upload these until now because my computer has had its knickers in a right twist so I haven't been able to do much until today after my stepson very helpfully worked on it remotely so that I have some functionality back. Phew! Let's hope it lasts.

These were taken on the 14th of this month when I braved the blizzard with dogs, camera and umbrella hat. I can't recommend the latter highly enough in conditions like these.

I have posted colour, monotone and duotone versions of some of the shots because I love the way that a change in mode can alter the same scene and change its atmosphere. The shots of the dogs are there just for fun and the snow smudges on the lens in some shots are just there because that was what the weather was like. I'm hoping that these represent the last of this kind of weather but I'm not holding my breath.

Tank you for viewing and i hope that you enjoy at least some of these images.

Your lead image is most impressive, and very beautiful. It is interesting to see the variations. The duotone seems to produce the best detail. This is a finely composed image as well. Love it!

A lovely set Lynne. Your lead being my favourite. Hope your computer is fixed for sure. Such a pain when they don't work.

I think the lead and it's versions are the best composition and technique, the loss of detail in the snow in V1 & V2 is not important , if anything it adds to V1!

A fine record of that day out in the snow, and it's interesting to see the variations applied to a few of the images.
But of them all I perhaps look your lead image best of all.
Such a bind (that's the polite word) when the computer plays up but good that you got help.......hope the problems resolve. I have had to restart my Mac occasionally when functions cease to do what they have always done, and so far that has sorted the problems.

A well worked set, Lynne.
And whoever was in that grave must've thought their partner must've been crying loads of tears that day.

Looks like you had the same depth of snow that fell around here. It's quite rare in the area I live as it's well shielded against extreme weather, and to get this much snow was a lot! Love 'em all, but think the lead has to be my fave...do like your snowman in V13 though! ⛄👍
