Very expressive Helen. So much detail in the shot. I can imagine this in a sepia tone....John

You told me about this, but I didn't expect the wider view. Helen this is wonderful. The processing is most appropriate, it gives a 'frozen in time' feel. The balance of the two chairs, the old gramophone, they all seem to be watching the lady reflected in the mirror. The composition could easily be confused but it works because of the strong diagonal from the gramophone horn leading up to the hairdresser. I bet she didn't realise that she was in your frame!

Oh wow - thrilled to bits to get your User Award Moira - I'm glad you like the wider view. I just felt that she needed to be in there - and with that mirror frame too.
Thank you so much SmileSmileSmile

The poor dog's been made redundant, Helen SadWink. A fantastic presentation, Helen, with the added bonus of the hairdresser in the mirror. Carol

A hint of Renoir!
Top marks for going in to ask to take the photo.
Wondering what kind of hairdressers this is - doesn't look funky, modern?

Even the hair dresser seems vintage, with her bun on top of her head. If you could remove the modern chair on the right it would be truly a step back in time. Very nice work on this, your treatment is exceptional in all regards.

A cracking image, Helen, love the processing, it has an 'old master' feel about it. I've tried several times to achieve this, but never been satisfied with my efforts Sad Really suits the subject, works very well, and think I might just have to give it my UA...Wink

A superb shot with a wonderful compo! The master herself is there, so there's no need to listen to her voice through the gramophone. It must be lying under a chair.Wink
