Socially Distanced 90

By woolybill1
A morning at Beamish: the rope handle of a wooden barrel lid; precise purpose of the barrel unspecified.

I have been experimenting with mounting Nikon lenses on my Olympus using a simple manual (uncoupled) adapter, as I did with my first MFT camera ten years ago, thus effectively doubling the focal length when compared to a full-frame camera. This and the next two days' uploads result from these experiments; there will be more in future.

I am most grateful to Alfie K, Allan and Malc who generously gave awards to Socially Distanced 90 and to all who voted and commented.
Thanks for looking Smile

Fine mono image with your 50mm prime and adapter, Bill. The older lenses work a treat, I use several different on an EOS. Fine detail in the frayed rope-end.

Nothing ropey about the results of your experimenting, Bill. Do I detect a wee bit of barrel distortion, though?Wink

I think it was put there for you to find Bill, it's as frayed as my nerves these days with all the damned rain.

Excellent use of DOF and coupled with great mono tones. A worth-while experiment, Bill?

That's a super shot, Bill, in the gritty style that's so enjoyable. The Nikon lens experiment is fascinating (Malc's observation notwithstanding) and opens up all sorts of possibilities. I look forward to more.

I'm a frayed to say it, but it's a fine shot with your tackle used! 😁 Very nicely framed and processed too 😃👍

Nice mono, love the frayed rope end
For many types of shot it's not hard to manage without auto-focus and auto-exposure control is it ?
