An attempt at something softer for a change which is not my usual style. My attempt at in camera composition ie. no cropping has resulted in quite a tight fit but these flowers have gone over so this will have to do until I buy some more.

Taken in natural light against a sheet of photo paper - the only plain white background I could find though of course it hasn't come out white!

Beautiful tones and detail. Maybe a touch tight in the corners for my taste but a good composition for all that - I like it

Thank you everyone - I must admit that I thought this would be one of my lead balloon pictures so am pleased to be proved wrong.

Barbara - actually I've been trying to emulate your soft style of flower pictures but with little success so far but will keep trying. I privately refer to the style as the Turtle effect Smile

I like the composition but felt the whites were a little blown, but thats just a personal preference. Took the liberty of trying to cool it doown a little, what do you think.

Like the overall composition and exposure but as you have said it is a bit tight in the frame.

Thanks again everyone.

Thanks too for the mod Dave - I did wonder about the white and whether it should be tweaked and you've done a good job on it.

I'll leave a bit more background as well next time!

The light background highlights the flower.
Thanks for comments on my "Triffid" pic.
It was a 12" ruler.
As per your photos , modfiying the photos , has a greater effect.

Hello Adrian - I was worried for a bit that my comments on your picture hadn't gone down very well. Pleased to hear that you're not bearing a grudge Smile

I'm glad you approve of this one and thanks for stopping by!

A belated thank you to you too Floyd!
