Soul Food

By banehawi
The source of that last bowl of food.

A very interesting and different Chinese restaurant. Bacon Fried Rice. Duck Fried Rice with Duck leg. Pastrami Spring Rolls. Stir fried whole lobster in shell. Steamed Lobster Dumplings. And more....

V2 is the colour version, Take your pick.

V3 is an oil paont version as suggested by unk001. V4 is a mono oil version as suggested by Moira

It remindes me, the color version, of a Edward Hopper painting... However I'm partial to b&w... Nice work ... C

PS the painting was called "the nighthawk". You seem to be working that way ...what I used to call " panting with my camera" but that was along time ago...c
I like the mono. And yes, it is very reminiscent of Hopper's The Nighthawk.

V1 for me. This is not a warm, cosy place. It's cold, impersonal.
V3 - I'm not normally keen on the effect but b&w of this could be interesting, less obvious, more mysterious.

I keep flipping through these. I like V3 - the hazy colour, but V1 - the sharper b/w. Both excellent.
But despite your title, the place looks soul-less. Smile

Goddam it Willie! Leave the food descriptions at home next time! I am now salivating at the thought of those dishes.Wink

Four very different versions, all excellent, each giving a new feel to the restaurant.

It is not at all soul-less! Its the most fascinating Chinese place Ive ever been in!

I will upload a shot of the door to the kitchen shortly so you can get a feel for how different it is.

A well observed scene W, and some very good workings of it.

I'll be out again.. I like the warm light colour..
I thought that Pastrami was Jewish, anyway I don't remember it when I was in Beijing...
