Oooo - that brings back memories for me, but when I crossed this piece of water (both ways) there was no blue sky but lots of grey clouds. For those who haven't crossed the Sound of Harris, it's an interesting journey with the small ferry weaving about through the hundreds of islands. But back to your image, Dougie - I love the composition with that little wave breaking on the shore and the glorious blues of sea and sky and the mountains of Harris beckoning in the distance.. I'll be there in four weeks!

Another great sky and very clever use of the roller as a base for the image. Distinctively your work Dougie! Smile

A few of the sailings have been cancelled of late because of the low tides but next month should be just fine Ann, I'm quite jealous of you I'd love to be going back up here again soon. Enjoy my friend Enjoy! GrinWinkSad

Love the use of the panoramic format Dougie, gives a real sense of scale to the image. A great cloud scape and fabulous composition.

Easy to see why you would wish to travel back there again, Dougie: wonderful sense of big open space and clean fresh air in such a scenic coastal setting.

That's a cracker, Dougie. Love the parallel lines and similarity of form between clouds and surf.

The breaking wave, the horizon, the huge sky. This is so simple and so evocative.

Back among the living. Have never ever before felt so helplessly ill. Not yet 100% recovered, but on a good path.
This is beautiful, and a great view for my sore eyes! The colours of water and sky are both amazing.

I'm glad to hear from you Johanna, good that this bug has stated to leave you, you'll be as weak as water and needing some fresh air in your lungs. Take it easy and don't be rushing into things. My thanks for the ua and all your well informed comments.
