Souter Point Lighthouse Complex

By madbilly
This is Souter Point lighthouse. situated at a place called Whitburn which is between Sunderland and South Shields. It was a rather blustery early evening when we got there and CHILLY as it always seems to be when we travel back to the northeast, must be getting soft. When opened in 1871, it was a technological marvel, being the first lighthouse built to use electricity. Decommissioned in 1988, the machinery remains in working order today.

Thanks for c&c's for my last effort which was taken locally.
