Hi Ian,
I like the composition with more foreground than the norm as you put it, it's made a strong looking image that works well in B&W. But that said I think you could make it look more like a thunderstorm is about to happen or has just passed. If you have "elements/PS etc" in your blend modes there is an option for "Overlay" select this and it will alter the colours and contrast in a subtle way, yes I know it's in mono but it still works
, then, if you think it's too much reduce the opacity (I did to 45%) and erase the effect from the sky and rock pools. Next make a selection of the sky and alter the midtones in "levels" and add a black gradient, this can be found at the base of your layer pallet, click on the half black half white circle and select gradients from the options then, again in blend modes select "soft light" again reducing the opacity if you want then with a soft brush erase from the bottom of the sky if you think it need's it, job done
Ian I have removed seven spots from the sky which could be dust spots, have a look it may be something that needs addressing.
Take care
Martin
