Soyuz & International Space Station

By spikemoz
In this picture I've attempted to create a picture of a Soyuz spaceraft on the final part if its approach to the International Space Station prior to docking. All three segments of the picture were taken at the National Space Centre, Leicester. The ISS is a beautifully detailed model hanging from the roof of the building and the Soyuz is a real one fitted to a stand in the main entrance. I've attempted to recreate the strong brightness on surfaces facing the sun and made the shaded areas darker.

Spike.

I would chuck in a few stars to finish it off.

Thanks for the comments.

Re: stars etc. I've been given to understand that when the spacecraft are in strong sunlight, the glare blots out the stars. It isn't until they get around the dark side of the Earth that the stars reveal themselves. I agree about how nice the stars would look, so I'm going to have a crack at it. However, I've got a few round tuits to see to first.

All the best,
Spike.
