A shot from last nights performance of Space50 at Jodrell Bank, projecting video and lighting effects onto the surface of the Lovell telescope.

This event marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of Sputnik, the start of the space race, and the use of the telescope to detect radar echoes from the Sputnik launch rocket.

The telescope was used in many other parts of the space race, including receiving the first pictures sent back from the moon.
