Spain #86

This will be the end of the short Granada/Alhambra series in the larger Spain trip. Granada, with the town and the Alhambra built on two steep hills.....people on the Alhambra hill have built homes in caves, as we can see in this photo, and others in the versions. The big wall behind is the Alhambra. The houses have fronts, entrances or facades that look like regular houses...but the main living areas are caves. No idea what they are like on the inside...or how large they are. This seemed like a community of people living in the caves.

I would like to thank Glenn (gconant) for his UA for my photo of the Roma guitarist.

Over here, tomorrow is Memorial Day, honoring people who have died in wars...the Tyrant has made noises about honoring people who have died from Covid 19 here, now approaching 100,000. And much of that can be blamed on his dithering, false statements, failure to act quickly enough, lies (What---he lies?), and general incompetence, not to mention stupidity.

Stay healthy, friends.

Peter

Nice set Peter and editorial comment, I must agree about the 'The Honey Monster' as like to refer to him.

It is probably an arbitrary settlement, outside the city plan, without roads and infrastructure, obviously. It is definitely a social issue, who lives in these houses. Very interesting subject and great photos, Peter!

Think about the stone masonry the Inca people did in Peru 600 years ago without steel tools....the finest masonry the world has EVERYTHING seen, Colleen.

Remember seeing cave dwellings on the road to Pamplona. Thanks for jogging my memory Peter.
It was sixty years ago.
