Spandau Panoramic

By Andrew_Hurley
This is Spandau Ballet, on their recent tour of the UK and Europe.

I had just acquired a Canon G11 (1 week old) and was trying it out for this concert (first real outing). I was 19 rows back but managed to get this shot - which I was quite surprised at!). The quality isn't as good as if I'd used my Nikon SLR but a decent enough record of a fairly good concert.

I don't always have the imagination to try anything new at concerts as my aim is to get a good, strong image of the band/singer and good concert lighting. There were lots of heads in the way when I took this so I cropped them out and produced a panoramic!

PLEASE VIEW LARGE!

All comments, good or bad, very welcome indeed.

Andrew.

This is a cracking capture and you have done extremely well. In capable hands it shows what can be achieved from a quality compact camera as the quality is pretty good and this is a crop too!

Well observed and I love the way you have them all strung across the frame.

Good work. Deserves more clicks but maybe its cos its Spandau Ballet! Mr H looks like he has enjoyed his food in the intervening years.

Thank you very much for your very kind comments. Concert photography doesn't seem to generally get a lot of clicks, I suppose it's not everyones cup of tea. Even my REM ones from 2008 only caused a small ripple!
