Hi Koen,

No, it was a straight shot with a 50mm macro and a two extension tubes totalling 48mm. This, plus a 2.5 F stop gave me incredibly short DoF so that, even though it was a tiny spider, when the tips of the legs were in focus the body was already blurred. What I did was focus on the spiderís body, move back a tad and then shoot about 7 frames in fast succession as I moved slowly closer again. Around frame 5 the spider's body was again in perfect focus but I far preferred this one which was frame 2.

Chuffed you like it

The impact for me in this image of yours is those 3 in focus tips of those legs.
Excellent composition and framing.

Arachno-art .... you can even make 'orrible little spiders look arty. Can't stand spiders, but I can appreciate the quality of the image. Won't be hanging this one in my lounge though.

Probably about the last thing you'd see if you were a small fly. Scary sort of image. Very effective.

Excellent! I couldn't work out if it was the centre of a flower, a person or a spider! I've decided it's the later!
Absolutely amazing shot! Definite click!

great one this matt. I somehow lost my fear of spiders, which used to be huge, over the years. But this nearly brings it back. I'd put an HC on this one but I'm not P. Cheers, hope you're well. Bert
