Looks a nasty piece of work. Errr..the spider, not the photo. I think I'd crop out some of the surroundings, but that's only my opinion.

Good first upload Drew, welcome to ePz. I wouldn't crop the background as you then lose some of the web, which is catching the light nicely. The only thing wrong is that the background is not quite sufficiently out of focus. A smaller depth of field would have sorted that.

If you have control over the exposure on your camera, choose either a faster shutter speed, or a smaller F stop number (larger aperture). If you aren't sure what that means there are loads of threads and articles on here which will give you more information.
