I somewhat foolishly went down to the South Gare on the Tees late yesterday afternoon. The wind was gusty and very strong. It nearly took me off my feet a few times. This is what it did to the small waves on the incoming tide at nearly high tide: spindrift! This is formed at around a Beaufort Force 8 gale, which is approximately 45mph.
