Spiral Snow

By James_C
Hi All,

Many thanks for all your kind comments and support for my last upload. Today I've gone back to something more recent as a subject - snow. Well they've been talking about it again, but I don't think we will get any here.
This is virtually straight from the camera - just sharpened slighhtly.

Exposure 1/200 sec
Aperture f/4.5
ISO 64

I hope you enjoy it.

Lovely image. Pin-sharp as well as snowy!

Nicely composed James, with the brickwork in the foreground giving a sense of depth; if I'm being picky it could probably have done with a wee bit more space above the spire.

Thanks Dave. I totally agree with your comment. Unfortunately I hadn't quite got the camera upright when I took the shot and lost the top in straightening. Even so, I should have allowed a bit more - I'll try to do better next time.
The building in the foreground is the Bell Tower (built in the early 15thC), which uniquely in this country, is seperate from the cathedral. Sadly the bad weather over the last couple of weeks has badly damaged it and there is now scaffolding supporting one of its butresses
Thanks Chris, Ann and Jennnn your comments and support are appreciated.
