A spitfire image from a few years ago which has been gathering digital dust on my hard drive.
I believe it is a reconnaissance version because top upper right of the RAF roundel on the fuselage. Is a hole that punchers the yellow rim of the roundel decal, and this I believe is a camera window !

In these dark difficult times a symbol of British iconic fighter I hope lifts peoples spirits Smile

No gun mounts therefore I agree with you ... the photo version for discovering enemy positions and defences.

Very well captured, I often see them flying over the south coast of the Isle of Wight although not so many this year.
