Spitfire T9

By TornadoTys
Another image of an iconic warbird, which I hope brings a little joy to people in these dark difficult times.

This Spitfire aircraft was built as a single-seater LFlX fighter at the Castle Bromwich factory of Vickers Supermarine in 1944 for the RAF. Used by the RAF in northern Europe for ground attack mainly.
After the war it was converted to a 2 seater trainer and in the 1950's sold to Irish Air force until it was retired in 1960. It has been through a number of private owners and after it suffered an undercarriage malfunction it was in repairs for number of years. It was purchased by Aircraft Restoration Company (ARC) and Historic Flying Ltd. (HFL) repaired and you can now have a flying experience in this aircraft with little change from 3 grand for 20mins in the air ! !
If only I had 3 grand I did not need ! ! SmileSmileSmileSmile

The image was taken at Battle of Britain air show at Duxford a few years ago.

Please feel free to leave any tips, advice, comments and critiques Smile
