Splish Spash I'm having a bath!

By Glostopcat
Seeing as it is Silly Sunday and it is good weather for ducks outside I thought this image rather apt for today. This is a male eider duck having a bath on one of the lakes at Slimbridge, he was having a great time splashing around in the water. It's been raining heavily in Gloucestershire for over 12 hours now and we've been experiencing gale force winds, luckily there is no damage or flooding locally as yet. Flood warnings have been put in place by the Environment Agency for the Rivers Avon and Severn for Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, so it is to be hoped we don't get a repeat of Black Friday in July 2007 when a large part of the county was hit by floods. Many thanks for all your comments and clicks on the tulips yesterday, I don't think there will be too many more shots of them this year the bad weather is finishing most of them off!

I don't know what the world is coming to, regarding the weather, fortunately we have settled down into summer now, hot sunny days and clear skies, about time, too, after all we've experienced this winter Smile A super capture, Ed, love the flying water droplets. Carol

Our small greenhouse has gone for a burton and I'm buggered if I'm going out to rescue it in this weather Sad getting right fed up with it at the moment, can't even put the moth traps out.......240volts and lots of water simply don't mix Wink

Think I'll invest in a wet suit at this rate and take up waterskiing! Nice image Ed, well done again, it must have been raining here 24 hours solid now Sad

You'll need your wet suit, flippers and snorkel if you are planning on visiting the Somerset Levels this week!Wink It's finally stopped raining, the wind has died down and we've had a brief sunny interlude, however I think there is more bad weather to comeSad
