Spring has sprung

By running_man
Will someone out there put me right. Are these catkins or pussy willows or what are they. I am not sure but they just said spring is here to me so I snapped them.

Well, both. Pussy willows is the name specific to the catkins of some willow trees (Salix sp.). Other catkins that are long and thin appear on hazel, birch, poplar, alder and walnut.

Catkins are pendulous whereas pussy willow tends to be as this fine example.
I love springtime too and its great to see all the pics that are being displayed on EPZ, keep up the good work.

Really like the composition of this one, with the sweep from bottom right to top left. Nice and sharp where it needs to be and lovely background colour.
