In 2010 I did a lot of film photography, my last hoorah, although I didn’t appreciate it at the time. Hardly any of it has been scanned. My equipment of choice consisted of my Cosina Voigtländer rangefinder bodies and their excellent quality lenses. The days of Agfa Scala were effectively long gone. Does anybody else remember Joe’s Basement in Wardour Street who developed it? All too late I had grown to love Agfa emulsions, especially their wonderful very slow B&W ones.
Où sort les neiges d’antan?
We arrived in Venice on the day of the
feast of Redentore after spending a wonderful time in Chioggia. We went to see if there was any chance of seeing the fireworks but there were far too many people about. However, we did see this party at the squero of San Trovaso and the delightful reflections in the canal were an obvious opportunity.
This is one of my all time favourite photos. If only I had had a better camera at the time.
