SS Linkmoor wreck site, Caithness, Scotland

By Cowser
The remnants of the SS Linkmoor photographed, on slide film, in 1983.
The ship came to grief while anchored on 10th November 1930, awaiting suitable tides to allow passage the Pentland Firth. The anchor cables sheared and she was driven ashore but, due to the sever weather conditions, the salvors were unable to save the vessel.
The years have taken their toll and, as far as I am aware, nothing is visible from shore but the remains provide an interesting dive site for sub-aqua enthusiasts.

A very interesting image and story.

I uploaded a mod where I used a shake reduction type of sharpening (latest photoshop) and reduced the green colour cast.
