St. Mary the Virgin Church

By GeorgeP
The small villages around Henley on Thames are the backdrop for many films and TV series. They have that quintessential English charm – if you can manage to find a view uncluttered with parked cars or clogged traffic. This is church of St. Mary the Virgin in Hambleden taken during a visit to family and friends in England last week. The weather was perfect and even on a Monday at lunch time the village was clogged with visitors. Surprisingly, the church was empty – though it is well worth a visit. The cliche here? If you Google images of this church there are thousands taken from the same spot at approximately the same time. Here is yet another!

The landscaping and trees really make this site come to life for me ... wonderfully framing the old stone church. Nice one George

I’ve never visited here or seen it before, but it does look so typically English. It is annoying when these pretty places are clogged with visitors, often taking selfies, they’re the worst, and worse still, cars parked right in front of your best shots - that’s one main reason I love Venice, no cars!
A super composition and capture here, makes the viewer want to visit here 👍🏼
