St Bartholomews

By Cristian
I took this image yesterday, whilst out on a bike ride. This is St Bartholomews church at Arborfield, near Reading.

I never realised it at the time, but this image has a connection to the black and white "weeping willow" tree that I uploaded earlier in the week. despite being some miles apart.

The connection is the Simonds brewery family. The willow tree photo was taken near the old brewery site, which along with the biscuit and "Sutton Seeds" trades were the main industries of the town in the last few centuries.

I've just learnt that the Simonds family had long been associated with St. Bartholomew’s as the Rector’s daughter Ellen Hayes married John Simonds III, and John’s sister Mary married the Curate, Rev. Wyndham C. H. Hughes D'Aeth, in 1866.

This is 5 exposures with HDR treatment in Photomatix Pro3.

I look forward any comments.
