St Mark's

By M_squared
St Mark's church, Worsley, Salford.

Footnote:
This church has an unusual clock. In the original 18thC estate workshop area, the Duke of Bridgewater had altered the clock there so that it struck 13 times at 1.00pm. This was done so that estate workers did not have the excuse that they "didn't hear the clock strike" at the end of lunch-break. When the church was built in the late 19thC, this clock was installed in it. It still strikes 13.
I enjoyed this nostalgic photoshoot. It had been over 70 years since my last visit to Worsley.
