This is a beautiful shot Ray, like a postcard.
What a shame your father had dementia, it is very hard to watch loved ones suffer from it.

One great thing about images is that they can evoke memories - this is a gentle capture. Until I read the commentary, I wasn't sure what feelings it evoked.
Nicely composed and well controlled dof to keep all in focus (possibly caused by the focusing system of your Fuji?) By cropping off the right side of the image, you have another composition.

Bicton Park South Devon or just into Dorset (Iím not sure Ray). Love that elderly man sitting on the bench located on the bottom left hand third - adds strength to the picture. Works a real treat, no hesitation giving this shot a click. Smashing.

PS. Best viewed large.
