Stac Pollaidh from Sgurr an Fhidhleir

By NevJB
One for 'Film Friday' - 'Stack Polly' from the summit of 'The Fiddler' - August '73. The peaks to the left and in the background are Suilvan and Quinag. Apart from a couple of ptarmigan I didn't see a soul all day.

The camera (Praktica LLC) was my first SLR and a 21st birthday present from my parents - I dragged that camera up hill and down dale, bashing it in the process a few times - but it still worked (until the electrics finally corroded and gave out in the early 90s.

Simple and reliable...

Earlier Prakticas were sometimes even more so, of course... Or the all-mechanical ones, like Leo's.

Great image from the past of a great area for hiking. I used to look at those Praktica cameras but it was a while before I could afford my first SLR, a Pentax Spotmatic F. I sold it (still in good working order) a couple of years ago SmileSmileSmile
