Stacked Gulls

By brian1208
A wild and windy lunchtime with the promise of a bit of brightness lured me onto Mudeford Quay to give my replacement EM-1 (with V1.1 firmware) and new mk2 75-300 a work-out.

Of course, as soon as I got there the wind swung to the NW and the clouds raced in with strong gust which made it hard to stand still, let alone keep the camera steady but the IBIS system on the EM-1 + boosting the ISO to 400 kept shutter speeds up and allowed me to get around 70% of the 300+ shots I took sharp.

Most if not all of the images I will put up here were shot wide-open and I am now very happy with the way this combination is working

All I want now is some decent light! Wink

A nice thought Peter but I very much doubt it is true.

A lot of people seem to have the impression this is difficult to do but nothing is further from the truth.

Its primarily knowing how to set the camera up to give yourself the best chance of getting the shot (have a look at my blogs on this in my foliopic website) and then getting to where the birds are and watching them for a short while to see how they are behaving.

After this its mainly "Point and shoot" photography Smile
