This is a fascinating subject, and you've chosen the perfect angle to show it off as both something beautiful, and as a piece of architecture. The lighting is just right, and you've included enough background (including people) to give it a sense of scale.
Spot metering possibly isn't the ideal choice, unless you took highlight and shadow readings and set an annual exposure to bridge them. You're using aperture priority, so I'm inclined to think it wasn't a good choice. Shooting RAW and careful processing is pretty necessary with a very high contrast subject like this, as well as careful metering. So I've got a question for you: why do you use spot metering in automatic exposure mode?
My mod tweaks the highlights as far as I can from the JPEG file, warms the white balance a tiny bit, and adjust the perspective to reduce the converging verticals that resulted from using a wide angle lens so close to the subject and tilted upwards.

This is Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Its unique in that ice from the river thats flowing behind forms the building materials.
For me.too cool in tone, and rather too bright where the subject is.
Ive uploaded a mod thats a little warmer overall, highlights toned down, and moe contrast applied to the warming house.
Regards Willie
