This was my entry for the weekly macro challenge titled "Clothes".

After a short search of the wardrobe my first thought for this weeks macro challenge was "suit buttons". Further searching didn't change this so I began thinking of ways to present them.

I originally had the idea of photographing them from above but at a slight angle and having a border inside the image where on one side the border would appear to be below the button on one side and above the button on the other side.

I noted however that three of the buttons are stepped and seem almost like stairs so I decided to go with this theme.

I placed the suit on a chair with the arm resting on the table and used a tie as a background as it also can fit this weeks theme. A desk lamp was placed to the left for lighting.

After some initial test shots I placed a torch on the right facing the buttons and moved the desk lamp further away until I had an effect I liked.

Maybe it could be a stairway to heaven but I have no intention of using it just yet.
