Stanage afterglow

By g0wex
The wind up there was tremendous, standing up straight was virtually impossible with the buffeting so strong that I had to wrap myself around my tripod to stop it and myself from being blown away.
I set my camera up the best I could as my eyes were streaming so much all I could see was a watery blur, I took several shots of the sunset hoping that one would come out sharp, then after a few minutes the afterglow built up and was fantastic throwing out some amazing colours, I moved position in an attempt to capture it reflected over this pool, luckily I was rewarded and got this one sharp which considering the conditions was pretty miraculous!(1.3secs f8 @ 12mm 0.9 reverse + 0.6 hard ND grad filters)

Beautiful image Stephen. I have been in that situation many times, howling wind, watery eyes, raindrops on the lens and your trouble has really paid off here.
Kind regards
