Good evening everyone! This is Barry, who has been selling the Evening Standard outside Monument tube station for 25 years. I was particularly interested in photographing an Evening Standard seller on one of my London walks as I fear they may soon be a thing of the past.

Every November Barry sells poppies on his stall for rememberance day. Last year he raised 6,090!!!!!

Because of the dwindeling sales of the Evening Standard, due almost entirely to the free newspaper 'wars' going on on London's streets, he will not make nearly as much money this year for such a good cause.

Thanks for looking, have a good evening and don't forget to buy a poppy this week!

Yep, that's a sight that could disappear even before traditional pub signs...

I think your about the end is in sight for the Standard and probably Barry.....pity. Nice pic, colourful and with good news headlines a historical 'document' in the future.
