A super composition Jim. The colour of the sky gives more depth. I've noticed these bales are getting fewer in the fields, but I always seem to get behind a load on the road!

lovely textures on the large version. Althopugh the sky looks so dark,I'm intrigued as why there is that lovely light on the bale? Agree about losing the trees on top.Like the fact that the atttention is on just the one bale.

Thanks all for your comments and critiques, each and every one of them has been taken on board. I believe you cant have too much good advice, but may not always act on it.
Daphne, I used a Grey Grad cokin filter on the original photo and also CS filters. The main focal point was the bail of hay which needed to be lighter to enhance it more. The smaller bails in the distance gave the main bail a feeling of standing alone and the headland trees, gave the shot a feeling of distance. In this instance, I feel cloning out the trees over the top of the bail would have been counter productive.

Thanks everyone, Regards Jimbo.
