Standing still

By SteveH1978
An odd request from my daughter this, to take a photo of her feet, which I forgotten I had taken. However, when reviewing my other holiday images I thought how good this would look in black and white. I particularly liked the way the big toe on her right foot overlapped the left, just hinting at a little impatience and a desire to want to run off and play.

I've done little editing other than the B&W conversion and darkening the highlights a bit. It was taken with my Sony 50mm at f1.8, 1/125sec and ISO100.

Just struck me that what was done as a bit of fun, actually came out as quite a powerful image.

Thanks for looking

Lovely image. A little more dodging and burning to bring the tones out, crop it square and I bet you could frame it and sell it...

Cracking shot, I love the simplicity of the composition, really works well as a B&W conversion.

Lovely shot and what a lovely memory for your daughter for when she gets older. I dont know of too many kids (including my own) that have pics of their feet when they were little. Beautiful !
