Fantastic work here. Thanks for the exposure info. I'll have to try this soon.

The university is holding an art competition with the winning work being displayed on the surface of the telescope over the next couple of months.

Yes, definitely a great sunset, and also a great job of processing, as it looks natural.

Fab sky and excellent detail on the dish structure. I agree with Patrick on the HDR processing, it does look natural.

Cheers all, back in after some fireworks. Nigel - yes, this is not too far away from the '0 EV' exposure, the HDR is just saving the highlights in the sky and giving a bit more detail in the telescope/foreground.

Our camera club are having a twilight competition early next year, can I borrow this image (and pass it off as my own). I (you) would win no problem.

This is an awesome photograph and deserves more votes than this! The light is just fantastic. You could make a few bob with this image I'm sure!

Hi Ant,

Guess where I ended up yesterday? that's right Jodrell Bank. I've attempted to emulate your photograph. The sky was great but not quite as dramatic as the one you managed to get. I've not uploaded my version to my main portfolio (in case it is spotted before the competition by one of our members!) but here is a link to it in one of the challenges link

I hope you like my version. Many thanks for being an inspiration - I should do pretty well with my version (hopefully),

Andrew.

It is a good time of year to try these shots, hope yours does well in the competition.

Ant.
