Starting The day 2

By arhab
On the original there are the sun and the reflection which over expose. I change to mono using channel mixer r:40 g:40 b:20. after that i raise the brightness, deepen, noise reduction, sharpen and resize.

I like the color, but because there are the sun and its reflection which over expose, i change it. And now i prefer on it, because i think the image become strong and more focus to the man (he is the farmer who towards his ricefields) without the disturbing sun and its reflection.

Any comment welcome. Thank you.

Hi Arhab,i like the composition in this shot with the walk way leading you into the image. Both images have a very different feel but i prefer the colour version.I dont find the sun a distraction i think it works well as a focal point.I have uploaded a mod which i haven't really done much at all apart from cropping a little, brightening the shadows and adding a touch of warmth...hope u like it

A very interesting comparison. I generally try to avoid uploading colour and b&w versions of the same picture together now because so often they work totally differently, and that's the case here. The atmosphere is so different. Colour is mellow, relaxed. B&W is altogether colder, eerier, less inviting. But that reflection is so good in b&w!
Composition-wise, I love the strong diagonal hitting the horizon, the figure heading straight for the junction. I wish he was a bit further from the centre of the frame though.
I'll have a look at a crop. I might add a bit more contrast but not a lot.

Thank you all for the comment and mods. I think, i had great lesson, never mix between b&w and color.
