State of Religion?

By paulbroad
Local village church, vestry window. Father in Law rests in the churchyard.

Seems to tell a bit of a story that a fine old church with bullet and shot damage from the English civil war has woodwork like this. That's a building belonging to one of the richest landowners in the country.

Does the image tell a story?

Just caught my eye, so went in very close to isolate detail.

I like this, Paul. Yes, it is a story telling image. It tells the past and the present, the religion rooted(ground) in the (society or)history, even the state of it is not as strong as it was..but it still in some people's daily life.(window)
MOD: Increasing the contrast a little.

And, from my personal religious perspective, showing the world and God in the relationship they always were: the one gazing rather sadly down on the other...

It tells a story of needless neglect for me. Im not religious, but I do belive that there is a lot of merit in preserving buildings, especially religious building that have historical significance.

Strong symbolism in this.
