Steam me up, Scotty!

By Ericsamson
Taken yesterday while at Matlock Station on the Peak Rail heritage line. Simple pleasures and all that!
HS2 anyone?

Many thanks for the generosity of voting and commentaries on 'Owl be seeing you' and especially to Carol for supplying the entire song and to Leo for the fascinating chain saw carving video. Having reflected on my commentary yesterday I wish to revise my statement and to assert, with confidence, that if I tried that I'd take both legs off: then I'd be stumped. Blush Wink Smile

Wishing you all a day throbbing with vitality ... I'm off to the shed. SmileSmileSmile

Love the title, Graham. I also love the smell of steam coal burning. Each to their own I guess. Wink

Brings back memories. My Dad worked as a brakeman on the Canadian Pacific back when steam was common. This is a familiar scene from my childhood.

A ghostly figure. Presumably then, this is the ghost train?
I fear warp speed is out of reach, no matter how well Scotty steams him up...
Kilroy said he likes this as well.

You're getting rather good at this Gussie, your place at the Drones is assured!
Have a great day in the shed...and a well earned Bertie gong.
Having smelled the virtual burnt coal and steam I may well on Saturday, if I can escape, toddle off to the Great Central R for a day moved by boiling water and savour the delights of the tea room under the bridge, where the bloomers hang to dry by the coal fire to the tunes of Glen Miller. ( if you've been, you will know all!Grin)
