My little boy is obsessed by trains at present.

The driver had an interesting look about him, so..well, so here he is .

Left the D2X at home to try out my new camera the d7100 ..quite pleased with it actually!

Have a great evening,

Gareth.

Simply superb Gareth. An image which has been very well observed and captured, whilst your choice of processing adds to the nostalgia and the charm

A beautiful picture which I hope could form a triptych with another two shots on its right... the chimney and the wheel of the train Smile

brilliant image Gareth - great composition and i feel that this type of image looks particularly better in mono
thinking of buying a D7100 because research suggests that low light photography is good up to ISO 3200 - what are your thoughts?

Hi Ava, I like the d7100 ....... I;ve kept my d2x for its ruggedness, but it's nice to have a light camera.

The d7100 seems to cope well with low light....... I used it with a slow ultra wide lens for the Snowdon series & it seems to have done well into twilight.
I have splashed out on a fast lens for gig work.,..and the combination is superb..for low light the d7100 does knock spots off of the d2x ..at fractions of cost.
