Steaming Ahead

By GillyB
The Duchess Of Sutherland steams through Saddleworth and crosses the viaduct with the Scarborough Flyer.

This is a regular early Friday morning occurrence in the summer months. Each week I try a for different viewpoint, some are quite crowded with enthusiasts and photographers travelling long distances. However, local knowledge is wonderful and I had this spot to myself.

Many thanks as always for finding the time.

I am thinking you got the very best spot, a most wonderful photograph! Seeing it in its environment tells much about the speeding train and its route!

Thank you!

Can't beat local knowledge ,and what a shot, so well timed, good composition well framed, love that full stream ahead look, stream has an attraction like no other I feel, I just love the smell of it, and they say it comes alive when firing up, each one has its own personality and I can understand that, bit like us really, and we can get all fired up sometimes . Great capture, excellent view point .
