Still Life with Prawns

By flowerpower59
Showing off a couple of new ebay purchases. I have been looking for a Roemer glass for a while. A real period glass costs a fortune, so this is a museum replica. Its contents aren't right as I didn't have any wine....must remedy that!Tongue

Yet again, this image looked much darker on my pc where I created it than here on the laptop. I hope people out there are seeing the darker version.

For anyone following my tribulations, I have managed to get this all in focus using my max f16 50mm lens by standing back as far as I can in the room. The disadvantage is that the image then needs to be cropped quite a bit which seems a waste of pixels.

I have just booked a few days away to Amserdam in June. I want to see the real thing in the Rijksmuseum. When last in that city the museum was closed for refurbishment.

An excellent composition and beautifully photographed and processed. The selection of the objects has been very well thought about.

The drape of the cloth really attracts me. Nicely arranged.

This is rather lovely.
There are more important things than pixels. If cropping gets you the image you want, that's all that matters.
I can't imagine you would want to have a huge print of such an intimate subject, after all.

Your laptop is too bright. This looks quite dark, - but I dont know how you saw it on your PC.

Another great shot.
The main problem is the jug is a little soft. I fell this is due to shooting so far away, Love the title, sounds like the story of my life.

Hope you like the mod...
